Children Encouraged to Stretch Their Imaginations with

Silly Bandz at the NJ Sandcastle Contest

BELMAR, NJ (July 27, 2010) – The 24^th Annual New Jersey Sandcastle Contest, New Jersey’s largest sandcastle and sandsculpting event, announced today the addition of BCP Imports LLC. as a sponsor.  BCP Imports is the exclusive distributor of Silly Bandz, the fun-shaped, multi-colored rubber bands that are wildly popular among children of all ages.

On Wednesday, July 28^th, more than 10,000 sand sculptors and enthusiasts will pile onto Belmar, NJ beach to participate in the 24th Annual NJ Sandcastle Contest. Attendees will enjoy a day in the sun, sculpt creative sandcastles and collect sea creature Silly Bandz. The event, a free, fun-filled day at the beach, will also offer attendees the opportunity to participate in Silly Bandz-sponsored dance contests.

“Silly Bandz are collected by children of all ages, including adults, and we are pleased to have an opportunity to sponsor this family-oriented event,” explained Robert Croak, CEO of BCP Imports LLC.

“With Silly Bandz, sea creatures will not only hit the beach as sand sculptures, but also as fun-shaped bracelets for children and families to collect,” explained Frank Sementa, chairman of the event and owner of D’Jais Beachcomber Grill, the lead sponsor. “Silly Bandz takes the idea of stretching the imagination to the next level with kidss when crafting their sand sculptures, as creativity is key.”

In addition to lead sponsor, D’Jais Beachcomber Grill, more than 20 brands and businesses are supporting the event, offering prizes and giveaways for attendees and contestants. Some sponsors include: Pirate’s Booty, Whole Foods Market, Six Flags, Foodtown, The Circus, Stop and Shop, Surf Taco, FINS, Windmill, Gymboree and Taylor’s Hardware. B&B Trophies of Manasquan is the official award sponsor, providing the NJ Sandcastle Contest with trophies for the second year in a row.
