“Jet Setter” Daniel Diggy Simmons, son of Joe Simmons (a.k.a. Rev Run) celebrated his sweet 16th birthday on Monday!  Hosted by hip hop and R&B artist Pharrell Williams, his exclusive party was held on March 26th at Lucky Strike Lanes in NYC.  Custom Diggy Simmons Silly Bandz® Bracelets were part of the luxe swag bags that were given away to the attendees of his party–celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kayne West, and Drake!

The up-and-coming music artist was signed to Atlantic Records in New York on his 15th birthday.  He released his first, highly anticipated mixtape “The First Flight” in December and another, “Airborne” in July.  A young mogul in the making, Diggy also launched his own fashion line, Chivalrous Culture in the fall of 2010.

Baseball season has started!

Minor League Baseball Team, the Memphis Redbirds, have created their own Silly Bandz® bracelets in the shape of–you guessed it–a Redbird!

They will be using their custom bandz as a  give away every Sunday during home games at AutoZone Park to the first 500 kids (14 and under).

Barbara Murphy’s Environmental Education Class at Westlawn Middle School in Huntsville, Alabama, wanted to help Japan following the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami.  The committee of 25 students created “Helping Hands For Japan,” a fundraiser that will sell Silly Bandz® bracelets in the shape of a hand in order to raise money.

100% of the proceeds will go to Japan’s recovery!

The bandz, $1.00 a piece, will be sold at the school and around the community. They will be selling the bandz until the middle of April.

Camp Kesem was started in 2000 to help kids whose parents have or have had cancer to just be kids! This fun-filled week includes sports, arts and crafts, and drama, as well as “cabin chats” where the campers can share common experiences and get to know each other.

The student leaders of Camp Kesem attended an annual National Leadership Development Conference, held the first weekend of March.  The conference was attended by more than 150 college students from more than 20 schools all over the country who organize week-long camps for children of cancer patients.

Their custom Silly Bandz® bracelets were a surprise giveaway for the students at the conference, who will be giving them to their campers this summer!  Their bandz were created from their logo, a caterpillar!
